Amsterdam based company Rhebergen Composites has announced a change in shareholders. Company founder Simon Rhebergen will step down after being involved in the company for more than 25 years, his shares will be taken over by Composite Entrepeneur Rolf Dothagen.
As a pioneer Simon played in important role in the development of the Dutch composite industry. Simon will now concentrate mainly on his marina and service company in the North of Amsterdam, his function as CEO at Rhebergen will be taken over by former technical manager Thomas Thon, a professional yachtbuilder who has been with the company since 1998 .
Commenting on the announcement Mr. Thon said “We respect Simon’s decision very much and I am very thankful to him for all his efforts. Looking to the future we are very pleased to have Mr.Dothagen on board. His financial background will give us the security we need to develop Rhebergen Composites further and his experience in management of larger businesses will be invaluable.”
Rolf Dothagen was managing director of EPO GMBH for 15 years before he joined SGL Carbon as COO where he stayed until 2010. He is also managing director of c-m-p gmbh, a producer a composite prepregs.
In addition to the above the management team will be further enhanced by Ad Broos. As CFO he will be responsible for quality management, project control and finance. Ad Broos brings with him the necessary operational experience as well as knowledge of the implementation and auditing requirements for ISO certification. He gained experience in various shipyards in multiple disciplines.
Following the appointment of Mr Thon the company’s organization will undergo major restructure. Besides ISO certification, the engineering team will be reinforced to meet the increased demand of qualified composite one-off constructions along with the project management team who will be required to handle the challenges presented in these kind of projects. Rhebergen Composites BV is spezialized in developing one-off composite parts from conception to completion, mainly within the superyachtsector.
