Having raised the roof of its main construction shed by two metres in 2009 to build four-deck vessels, the yard’s new slipway opened in January 2012.
Offering a maximum lift of 1000 tonnes, the slipway allows Hakvoort to build super yachts of 58 x 10.60 metres. This is part of the yard’s strategy to steadily grow in order to build larger yachts. “We are now in a position to bid for new 50-metre-plus projects.” says Klaas Hakvoort. “Our yard is highly competitive in this size bracket due to our lean overheads and very high quality levels"."
Next step of the strategy will be extending the shed 5 meters to have a building capacity of 63 x 11.60 metres.
