VETUS, the Dutch designer and manufacturer of technical boat equipment and marine engines with a worldwide sales organization is pleased to announce that from October 19th it will open a new branch office in Cape Town to cover the region of Southern Africa. The company will be managed by Neil Cramb, assisted by a dedicated team of marine professionals who will be driving the VETUS, Maxwell and Marex brand forward.
Marcel Borsboom, CEO of the VETUS Group, stated: “To bring the VETUS, Maxwell and Marex products closer to our customers in this region, we have decided to open our own branch office. With a continued focus on engineering and creating boat systems we will be able to serve our customers best with VETUS, Maxwell and the Marex product lines through this new office.”
VETUS was founded in 1964 in Schiedam, near Rotterdam, The Netherlands. VETUS offers a wide range of boat systems from engines and maneuvering systems, to exhaust and waste water systems. Maxwell and Marex are part of the VETUS group of companies. With these brands, VETUS offers high quality anchoring solutions (Maxwell) and custom made windows (Marex). VETUS has a worldwide service and distribution network with subsidiaries in Australia, Denmark, Finland, India, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, Sweden, UK, and the USA.
VETUS employs a staff of 175, with 90 of them based at the head office in Schiedam and the rest deployed in various international offices. The turnover in 2010 was around € 45 million.
