MASTERVOLT OFFERS FREE TOURS AND DEMONSTRATIONS AT HISWA BOAT SHOW 2011

Published: 6 September 2011

If you have an interest in electrical propulsion, then hurry down to the HISWA TE WATER Boat Show, between 6 – 11 September 2011 at the Marina Seaport Ijmuiden, in The Netherlands. Leading electrical specialist Mastervolt is arranging a series of free practical demonstrations three times a day at the Show, including a ride on the canal in an e-powered sloep, which guests can try their hand at driving. You can book a place by visiting the Mastervolt booth, K104, which is also serving free drinks after each tour.

As part of the EU-funded HYMAR (Hybrid Marine) initiative, and as the owners of Bellman electric drives, Mastervolt has experts on hand to guide visitors through the various electric drives on selected boats at the Show. These vary from PodMaster drives, where the motor is suspended beneath the boat in a torpedo-shaped pod, to a fully internal installation. Advice on the necessary controllers, chargers and battery banks that make up the rest of the system is all readily available from some of Mastervolt’s pioneering technicians. Whatever your level of interest, members of the e-power team will be on hand to answer your questions, and guide you around the installations.

Mastervolt has positioned the e-powered Dutch sloep in the harbour , so your insight into the benefits of Mastervolt systems can culminate with a practical demonstration of just how powerful, efficient and silent an e-drive can be. Mastervolt has been carrying out a great deal of research in making its entire range of electrical systems hybrid capable, and setting industry standards for more e-power installations in production boats. The company was also the pioneer of the 12V and 24V Lithium-Ion marine battery, which is ideally suited to deep-cycle applications such as propulsion.

“We feel the HISWA event is an ideal opportunity to show interested visitors just how versatile an e-power system can be,” said Pieter Eggermont, Sales Manager Benelux. “Seeing – and hearing - is believing, so we are combining the visual tour with a practical demonstration, where guests can drive the boat themselves. We’re sure everyone who goes afloat with us in the sloep will be very impressed with its silent running and incredible manoeuvrability. Coupled with renewable energy systems and deep-cycle purpose built installations, electric drives are most definitely the future, and we have the ideal opportunity here to show just what can be achieved.”
