We are delighted to announce that one of the newest members of the Holland Jachtbouw fleet has been nominated as a finalist at the World Superyacht Awards. The 42-metre Calliope has been chosen in the Best Three-deck Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yacht category and is now in contention to receive a coveted Neptune Trophy. Boat International Media will announce the winners at a special gala evening in the Guildhall in London this coming May.
Launched in the summer of 2010, Calliope was commissioned by repeat clients who had previously built the 32-metre flybridge cruiser Cassiopeia with us earlier in the decade. One of the many reasons that this new project was so exciting – and turned out to have such award-winning potential – was the owners’ determination to combine their cruising experiences with the latest thinking in superyacht construction and quality. A great deal of time and money was invested in pushing the engineering window to the highest degree of sophistication, which we achieved in partnership with Langan Design Associates.
Calliope features high-end equipment throughout, and no compromises were made in fitting the most exceptional piping, electrics and navigation & communication systems. Her highly specified and fully integrated bridge is exceptionally clean even by today’s standards. And this all-aluminium ‘gentlemen’s yacht’ also offers true comfort and style. Designed by Rhoades Young, the modern-classic interior is finished in weathered limed oak and features reverse spiral staircases that dynamically connect all three decks.
Built to Lloyds and MCA, Calliope confirms that Holland Jachtbouw – renowned for our classic sailyachts such as Windrose of Amsterdam and Athos – is also a world leader in creating bespoke motoryachts.
