Founded in 1992, Neptune has grown during the past 19 years into a full-fl edged professional company employing a team of 18 craftsmen, each of whom is specialized in a particular fi eld of expertise. Prior to founding Neptune, company owner Marcel Botman gained years of valuable experience while working for a luxury superyacht shipyard, specialized in yachts built wholly to the specifications and quality standards of highly discerning and often very demanding clients. Whatever else he may have learned during this period, he quickly grasped the importance of listening closely to the desires (and demands) of his customers. A client who is in the market for a yacht is usually someone who is looking to fulfi ll a – in some cases – long-cherished dream, with the aid and support of the shipyard. The yard’s expert input is crucial in this area. Yet, while it goes without saying that yachtbuilders make every effort to accommodate their client’s desires, there is usually very little attention paid to the quality of the mattresses with which the yacht is equipped.
